Salary Range: $25 - $35 hr | Sign-on bonus - $3000 | Relocation bonus - $1500

Position Description

Our PTA will provide one-on-one physical therapy treatments under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, including the use of modalities, manual techniques, and standard exercise techniques. Instructs and guides patients through functional activities, such as bed mobility, transfers, gait, and balance activities. Works under minimal supervision and may mentor and train staff on technical skills.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Performs physical therapy treatments, including modalities, manual, and standard exercise techniques. Instructs and guides patients through functional activities, such as bed mobility, transfers, and gait and balance activities.

  • Observes and follow treatment precautions identified by physical, occupational, and other physicians. Observe patient response changes and report changes to the physical therapists in charge.

  • Provides daily and timely patient chart documentation of interventions and services provided in the acute care setting.

  • Provides education and Training to patients and caregivers while incorporating learning style preferences—Assesses education and training responses.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Licensing/Certification Requirements:

  • Graduation from a physical therapy assistant program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

  • Must possess a valid Nevada license as a physical therapy assistant and basic life support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Additional Position Requirements:

  • At least two (2) years within the last 20 months of acute care and rehabilitation experience providing physical therapy treatment as prescribed by the therapist.

  • Must be available to work requested shifts as needed.

Knowledge of:

The principles and methods of physical therapy and the roles of the physical therapist and the physical therapist assistant relate to improving the patient's functional independence. To include neuromuscular function and dysfunction, kinesiology, and the modalities, the objectives of physical therapy treatment. Plus, the operation of therapeutic equipment includes ultrasound, electrical stimulation, soft tissue, joint mobilization techniques, safety techniques for therapeutic exercise, functional activities, indications, and contraindications for various treatment modalities.

Ability to:

Communicate and educate patients, family, and staff regarding physical therapy treatments, and complete medical record documentation and statistics.
